The History: Keeping the Integrity in the Design.
Red, Green and Blue Stripe Fiesta® dinnerware is a thing of myth and legend among the Fiesta® collecting community. The February 1936 The Pottery, Brass and Glass Salesman trade publication mentions the availability of new decorations on ivory, including bands of red, green and blue, as a follow-up to the overwhelmingly successful launch of the Fiesta® colorware.

Production of the vintage striped items seem to have been produced for one year, leaving very few pieces to meet the high demand among modern collectors. Celebrating this line, the HLCCA teaming with The Homer Laughlin China Company launched its exclusive decoration Retro Red Stripe on Post-86 ivory at the 2009 Pittsburgh Conference. The Retro Stripes (Red, Green, Blue) decoration, on the HLCCA drafting table since 2007, has generated a whole renaissance of the much beloved treatment in striped treatments on a variety of Homer Laughlin Fiesta® shapes.

Keep watching this blog in the coming weeks for announcements about the availability of new, HLCCA-exclusive Retro Red-Stripe Fiesta items.  As featured at this past summer's HLCCA conference, they'll include the luncheon plate, soup/cereal bowl and nappie/vegetable bowl, as well as the exciting new individual pasta bowl and rice bowl.

Last Chance for Retro Red-Stripe Fiesta 8" Vases!

We have received our last shipment of the 8" Fiesta Retro Red-Stripe vase. The vase is listed, and available for purchase, on the HLCCA website for sales to HLCCA members only. Single memberships may purchase 2 vases and couple memberships may purchase 4 vases, at a price of $85 each (including shipping).

UPDATE 3/22/11 10:12 AM: Non-HLCCA members may now purchase this vase for $250 each (including shipping).

Huge 2-Day Fiesta and Hall Autumn Leaf Auction

For those who may not be able to make it to the Strawser Auction in Indiana in September (or who can't get enough live auction action!), we've just learned of another large collection of vintage Fiesta, Hall Autumn Leaf and other items to be auctioned in Iowa on August 28th and 29th. The auction of the Gary & Trudy Pfeiffer collection by Wilson Auction Service will be held in Colo, IA, which is located 15 miles east of Ames and 35 miles northeast of Des Moines.
